Good Governance Awards 2019

We have recently partnered with our neighbouring Munster based Volunteer Centre’s and Carmichael to endorse and launch the Good Governance Awards. We believe it is very important that the stories, successes and challenges of small and medium sized community and voluntary groups like yours are recognised, heard and valued.  It is also useful that the steps that you are taking to improve your governance processes are acknowledged.

As such we would like to encourage you to consider applying for the

2019 Good Governance Awards. Entry is free and easy.  Groups’ similar in size to yours that entered last year’s Good Governance Awards highlight the benefits of applying due to the quality of the feedback they received from the Governance Awards judges.

One of last year’s entrants said “It is worth applying for the awards just to get the feedback, very comprehensive and helpful as we strive to improve our reporting and telling of our story.” Another group wrote “thank you so much to you and the panel of judges for the very detailed feedback on our Annual Report. We find this extremely useful going forward in implementing best practice in our reporting. We look forward to entering again next year.”

The closing date for you to enter is the 13th of September 2019. There are two types of awards that groups can apply for. The Annual Report Award and the Governance Improvement Initiative Award ( can you link these  words Derek to the site
