The Clare Volunteer Centre are looking forward to 2011 as an opportunity to work with both the business and community and voluntary sector to acknowledge and recognise the volunteers of County Clare.
With the support of the Ennis Chamber, Clare County Council, Ennis Town Council and the Clare Local Development Company, a Volunteer Discount Card will be launched in December 2010 enabling volunteers to access a range of discounts and special offers from businesses across the county for 2011 – the European Year of the Volunteer.
According to Business in the Community Ireland, “Community involvement is an essential part of good business practice. The benefits include greater market share and customer loyalty, enhanced employee skills and morale, improved supplier links and a better reputation.
Acknowledging volunteers is just one method among many for businesses to become involved in their communities. Community involvement benefits not only the local community but can boost business itself!
Volunteers now more than ever are a vital support to our communities. This scheme will be the first of its kind in the county and it is hoped that with the national publicity accompanying the European Year of the Volunteer, Clare can be showcased as a county who recognizes and acknowledges the valuable contribution that all volunteers bring. For your business to participate simply contact Ennis Chamber on 065 684 2988 or email email@example.com to register along with the details of your volunteer offer or discount before November 24th 2010.
